Best coworking spaces in Ottawa

ottawa coworking spaces

As a business owner having an office space can make you more productive, but if you are just starting out it can be a very large expense and something you may not have the funds to cover just yet.

If you find working from home difficult but can afford to sign a huge lease for an office then coworking spaces could be the solution for you.

So if you can’t work from home or a coffee shop is too busy for you then here are some of the best coworking spaces in Ottawa that you can work from.

Impact Hub Ottawa

Impact Hub in Ottawa is one of our favourite coworking spaces in Ottawa. It’s located at:

  • 123 Slater Street, 6th & 7th Floors
  • Ottawa, ON K1P 5H2
  • (613) 680-3506

It has everything you need from a coworking space including meeting rooms, workshop rooms, fast Wi-FI, Coffee and modern designed office space. The best part about the Impact Hub in Ottawa is that its affordable to all businesses. Startups can rent 10 hours of office space for as little as $40 a month or they can have full-time usage including 4 hours of meeting room time for only $240 a month.

You can even get a free day trial by visiting their website. We really like the Impact Hub and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a professional space to meet with clients without breaking the bank.

MBO Coworking

MBO coworking is located at:

  • 78 George St

What we like about MBO coworking is that it has options for all businesses regardless of where they are in their business journey. For example, freelancers can hire day passes to be here which is useful if they want to meet with potential clients in a professional space.

Larger businesses can also hire private offices too, so whichever stage of your business development you are in if you are looking for office space without long commitments MBO Coworking could be a great choice.

Daily passes are available from $20 a day, while hotdesking is available from $100 a month. You can also get a full-time desk for $475. You can also timeshare an office for a few hours a month from $300-$600.

Spaces Laurier Ottawa

If you are looking for an affordable coworking space in Ottawa, Spaces could be the choice for you.

Spaces Laurier Ottawa is located at:

  • 135 Laurier Avenue West
  • Ottawa
  • K1P 5J2

Spaces Laurier Ottawa is located in the heart of downtown in an impressive high rise building with secure underground parking. If you want a coworking space that will impress potential clients this is it.

Spaces Laurier Ottawa is very affordable too with office space starting at $290 a month for 24/7 access which is affordable considering its good transport links and location looking over Parliament Hill in Ottawa’s CBD.

Collab Space

Collab space has multiple coworking spaces in Ottawa including spaces in both Kanata and Nepean. In our opinion, if you are looking for flashy offices these may not be the offices for you as out of all of the coworking spaces above these look the oldest and most outdated.

With that said, Collab space offers you as a small business owner the opportunity to network with some of the biggest companies in Canada. Companies such as Lyft and Ottawa aviation services all have spaces at Collab space so it does allow you to network with these types of companies.

In terms of cost, collab space is mid-range and membership starts off at $299 CAD a month for full access. Additional memberships can then be purchased for $199 per person.

Out of all the coworking spaces in Ottawa, this is by far the largest and it even has an onsite bar and restaurant. You can learn more about Collab Space on their website.

Coworkly

Coworkly has two coworking spaces in Ottawa, one in Vanier and one in Westboro. Both locations are easy to get to and are very affordable to all business sizes. You can start with a few days per month for only $150 CAD or you can have unlimited access for $375.

If you want a whole office to yourself prices start at $650 CAD.

All offices come with fast internet (Dual Gigabit Internet) which is perfect for Skype, Zoom and everything else you use to connect to others around the world.

If you need a quiet space all offices are equipped with recharge rooms and phone booths too.  Coworkly has provided Ottawa businesses with great coworking spaces and I would highly recommend checking them out.

Regus coworking in Ottawa

If you have been looking for serviced offices or coworking spaces in Ottawa then there is a high chance you would have come across Regus at one point.

Tips when working from a coworking space.

Working from a coworking space is a great option if you don’t want to take the plunge on a new office just yet or if you simply can’t afford one. Most coworking spaces will have secure networks but you should always be cautious when connecting to a network that isn’t yours.

You should make sure the computer you use in a coworking space is protected from malware and virus protection so your files are kept safe. As always be cautious when opening emails and files from people you don’t know as it could contain code that could damage your computer or even lock you out of it.
